Partner Highlight: Cutting Edge Metals

Another one of our local supplier partners is Cutting Edge Metals of Superior, WI. All of the brackets for all of our tented cabin kits were designed in-house, and are fabricated by Cutting Edge Metals. On a recent trip over the bridge to pick up an order of brackets, we got to chat for a bit with owner Mike Miller. Below is a bit of what he had to say:

𝗖𝗕: How long has Cutting Edge Metals Been around?
𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗲: We have been in business for over 15 years. It started down in Arizona. We moved our business to Superior in 2009 after the economic recession hit, so that we could be closer to family. We've been growing it ever since. We just bought another building, just down the road. We will have more room for manufacturing in our current building, and we will do all of our finishing in the new building.

𝗖𝗕: Do you work with individuals on smaller projects, or are you primarily commercial?
𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗲: We do it all... builders, engineers, designers, decorators, architects, "average joe" homeowners. You name it, we do it. We don't turn anyone away.

𝗖𝗕: Is everything done in-house?
𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗲: We do everything from scratch. The only thing we don't do in-house right now is powder coating. That, we farm out locally.

𝗖𝗕: What would you say is one of the more unique requests that you have gotten?
𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗲: (chuckles) Putting me right on the spot! We do get a lot of requests for more artistic projects, and we have done quite a few over the years. We try not to, because we are more into manufacturing. Our focus now is more on timber-framing and architectural elements...we ship all over the country, and out of country.
