Insulation: How Important Is It?

At Cedar Bound, we offer three different kit levels. The Basic, Cozy, and Luxe. The Basic is the only one of the three that does not offer the Arctic Insulation from Reliable Tent & Tipi. You may be asking yourself “How important is insulation?”

The main consideration when making this choice is usage of the unit. If your plan for your Cedar Bound unit is to offer a truly rustic camping experience, then foregoing the insulation could be a reasonable cost saving measure. The Basic kit is a great option for people who want an experience that most closely resembles traditional tent camping, with the added comfort of a solid structure.

If you are planning on your structure to function more like a cabin, and plan on having any “creature comforts” available, an insulated kit may be the better option. Perhaps you live in here in MN, where winters get frigid. Maybe you hail from further south, where the summer heat can be equally daunting. Regardless of where you live, insulation makes temperature regulation much more manageable, and help keep the utility bills down.
